My Story
I get it. Health and safety can feel like a massive weight, especially when it’s not your main role. When I started as an office manager, health and safety literally made me sick to think about. I had no clue what I was doing, no one to guide me, and the fear of making a mistake was constant. It felt like I was drowning in a sea of regulations, and there was no lifeline in sight.
Here’s the kicker—it wasn’t just stressful. It was holding me back. I remember looking at better office manager and facility manager jobs, thinking “I could totally do this!” But then I’d see “health and safety duties” on the job description, and I’d freeze. The thought of taking on that responsibility made me hesitate, and in the end, I didn’t apply. It was the one thing standing between me and the role I wanted.
It was isolating. I felt I should have the answers, but instead, I was stuck, confused, and overwhelmed. Everyone around me assumed I knew what to do, but the truth was, I had no clue. I didn’t want to admit it, so I kept pretending, hoping it would magically fall into place. But it didn’t.
Then, one day, I hit a breaking point. I thought, “Can I even do this? Am I cut out for this job?” The doubt was suffocating. I knew I couldn’t keep going like this, so I decided to take action. I signed up for a health and safety course, and that decision was a game-changer. In 2008, I caught the health and safety bug (don’t worry, it’s not contagious!), and everything changed. That knowledge gave me the confidence I had been desperately searching for.
Now, I’m a qualified health and safety professional. But what matters most to me is this: I’ve been where you are. The overwhelm, the fear, the self-doubt—I’ve felt it all. And I’m here to show you that it doesn’t have to be that way.
Health and safety doesn’t have to hold you back from stepping into those roles you want. It doesn’t have to be the thing that keeps you from succeeding. I’m here to make it simple, manageable, and most importantly, understandable—so you can finally feel confident and empowered in your role.
Things are changing—slowly but surely. There are more support groups now, the HSE is becoming more user-friendly (bless them, they’re trying!), and health and safety consultancy firms are working hard to make health and safety cool. It’s not the same isolating struggle it used to be, but that doesn’t mean it’s easy.
The one thing that still holds true is this: No one has really cracked how to explain health and safety in simple, human terms for office and facility managers like you. Despite all the updates, resources, and improvements, the language is still too complex, and the fear still lingers.
That's where I come in. I break it down into simple, actionable steps that are easy to understand and easy to implement. My mission is to make health and safety manageable, stress-free, and actually make sense, so you can confidently take control of your role without the anxiety.

For the last 16 years, my mission has been crystal clear – to help, support, and guide anyone whose main gig isn't Health and Safety, especially those feeling lost on where to start. Over the years I've had various Health and Safety positions, but the work closest to my heart is assisting those who find Health and Safety overwhelming.
I love breaking down the complicated stuff into simple terms—the whys, the whats, and the hows. I get that office managers are swamped, and they don't have time to create policies, procedures, and risk assessments from scratch. That's where I come in, making Health and Safety less of a headache and more of a manageable journey.
Office managers juggle numerous responsibilities, with health and safety being just one element of their multifaceted role. I aim to streamline this dimension, enabling them to succeed in their role.
I’ve got you covered!
